 Minneapolis Eliminates New Development Parking Minimums

 

The Minneapolis City Council adopted an ordinance that eliminates minimum off-street parking requirements citywide. The effort seeks to align with the city’s goals outlined in Minneapolis 2040 and the Minneapolis Transportation Action Plan aimed at facilitating

climate change resilience. The ordinance also lowers maximum parking allowances, sets

requirements for EV charging infrastructure, and increases bicycle parking requirements
