What is the Successful parking?

For most driver's license applicants, parking maneuvers are synonymous with long hours of training, and sometimes for a result that is far from satisfactory. However, the proper control of these maneuvers has become a mandatory step, not only in terms of the REMC, but also to win the coveted driving license. Whether it is a niche, a parking lot on the cob or in battle, the candidate for the exam will have to demonstrate perfect knowledge of the rules of safety as well as an excellent control of his vehicle.

During the practical driver's license examination, 3 types of parking maneuvers are likely to be requested by the inspector: the slot, the front or rear parking lot and parking in battle. In any case, it is strongly advised to blow a good blow before carrying out the maneuver, then to maintain a high level of concentrate until the vehicle is correctly parked in the indicated location. Thus, an inspector can evaluate the level of a candidate according to a scale ranging from 0 to 3 points depending on the quality of the maneuver. If according to his expertise, this is done incorrectly and endanger the occupants of the vehicle or the other users, the note will be eliminatory and the candidate will have no other choice than to retry his luck during an upcoming presentation on the practical exam.
The niche
The parking maneuver called "crenel" is to enter a vehicle in a place that is parallel to the roadway. The main difficulty lies in the fact that the available space is delimited by two vehicles already parked. Not only will the control of the steering angle be very important, but it will also manage the clutch and alternating forward / reverse without hitting one of the vehicles already parked.

1.    The user must identify the place and indicate to other road users that he wants to park by activating his flashing light. This precaution allows other road users to make arrangements to double the driver if space is sufficient or to wait for a little.
2.    The motorist must then stand in parallel with the vehicle in front of the free space.
3.    It must ensure that it does not interfere with any vehicle that may precede it because it is not a priority. The slot must, therefore, be made under optimum conditions.
4.    The user must go back in a straight line until the rear end of the vehicle he is driving is in the middle of his rear window.
5.    He can then begin to steer clear of his steering wheel towards the location while continuing to move back slowly.
6.    The driver must then counter-steer at the right time to be properly positioned. Several markers can help: the counter-steering occurs when the sidewalk, on the side where it maneuvers, occupies about 1/3 of its rear window. This moment also occurs when he can no longer see the vehicle parked behind the location in his rear window, or when the user forms a 45-degree angle with the roadway.
7.    Once his vehicle is properly aligned, the user can make the necessary adjustments, such as put his wheels straight, fold his mirrors, and finally put his handbrake and the gearbox in neutral.

Parking on the cob

Whether it is forwards or backward, the main difficulty for successful parking on the cob is the respect of the angle of 45, 60 or 75 degrees that delimit the location. However, this is probably the easiest parking maneuver to do. In fact, the margin of tolerance applied by the inspectors is almost non-existent and the vehicle will have to be perfectly parallel to the two lines are drawn on the ground.

The steps to park on the cob

Backward:
1.       The driver must signal his intention to park by activating his flashing light.
2.    It must be placed alongside other parked vehicles with a certain margin.
3.    He must then back off in a straight line until the back of his car reaches the first light of the parked car.
4.    The driver will then back up and turn his steering wheel.
5.    When he is well parallel to other cars, he can put the wheels straight and back on his parking space.
6.    Once correctly positioned, the user must not forget to engage the parking brake and leave the gearbox in neutral.
In front:
1.    The driver must signal his intention to park by activating his flashing light.
2.    He can then turn without being too close to the other cars as if he were entering an intersection.
3.    The user must make sure to be well-positioned, centered and not impede access to nearby vehicles.

Parking in battle

Unlike parking on the cob, parking in battle takes place on a parking space that is located at 90 degrees from the roadway. For successful parking, the candidate will be careful to position his vehicle, but especially to avoid impeding the movement of other users. Indeed, throughout his maneuver, it will not be a priority and he must stop the movement of his vehicle to yield the passage as soon as a user comes to his height.

The steps to park in battle

The steps are identical to those of parking on the cob, the driver must simply park on a 90 ° axis and not 45, 60 or 75 ° as when parking on the cob.
By training days before the day of the driving test, it is possible to quickly learn to master all parking maneuvers to obtain a driver's license. For the most comfortable candidates, who wish to score points with the driver's license inspector, it is strongly recommended to perform a reverse during the parking test in order to easily fit into the traffic. In this case, it will be necessary to be particularly attentive to the movements of the other users not to disturb them, but also to think of making good use of the indicators.
